CHALLENGE DAY 30

Done… FINAL DAY: gosh what a challenge this has been… just a short ride today as I have another wedding booking interview this afternoon and I am still recovering.. hahah well the house is still recovering from the weekend…

I actually did two rides yesterday as I went off to a Writing group. Felt like a bit of a hippy turning up on my bike but that is what I had planned for. All  small tasks that can be done around the town on a bike will be done. And yep I will kept it up until the weather changes.

What a challenge this has been I cant beleive that I have done a whole 30days…And I can tell you that there was times that the stress of knowing that I had to do it along with my other things that I do sometime had me go over the edge….hahhahah… and then throw in the wedding…. argh….

hmmm I wonder what will be next for me…….. 30 days really to try something different isnt that hard … At least you know what your end date will be. Each year I have always put on my list of to-do’s is 1 challenge and try 1 thing new! So this year is the writing group. I have to stick to it for 6mths and sometimes I stay with it like last year, joining the radio station (and I love it!)…. another year was becoming a Marriage Celebrant. I have tried toastmasters and studied… been a soccer trainer (did that for 3 years… hahah you do get over looking after males and injurys!) but it kept me busy during the winter months and many other things. My challenges have been taking regular walks…… or completing a project in the house….. hahahah Last year I did ‘NO PERSONAL PURCHASES FOR 12 MONTHS’ which lasted for 13 months… I have even learned a new skill of quilting..

So 30 Days wasnt really that hard, it just was a constraint tight schedule!

…… So maybe I will see what I can do next…. could be extra k’s on the bike! …Maybe turn to taking more photo’s… Maybe explore the next town over a little… Do a series of photo’s and bike rides … We have 5 coastal towns along within this stretch of the point and then there is a few inland country towns with 30mins… hmmm you just never know. I would like to do active things while the weather allows and then turn to inside activities during winter… Write a children’s book maybe…. and that is why I have joined a writing group!

Thanks for following, there will be more to come … hahah just need a little rest.. give me a week or two and back on the journey we will go! 🙂

CHALLENGE DAY 29

Done… I still have not completely recovered from the weekends wedding but domestics wait for NO man or Woman ……This morning I have spent most of my time catching up with the domestics and tiding up the bits left over from the wedding and get my house back into some sort of order…. and dont forget there is always washing!  But my mind did wander to the weekend events. Every thing I touch has memories this morning….. So as I put away the ironing board that I ironed the groom and his mates shirts on… I tidy up the left over flowers from the girls bouquets … wind up ribbon from the table settings….. Pick up the wedding ceremony material from my scattered Marriage Celebrant bag and wipe up the biscuit crumbs off the cupboard from their sand looking wedding cake, I to start to dust and Vacuum again and slowly gain my little home back again… All while remembering an important day in my life, were I got to see my youngest child marry… The one child that if you needed to find her she would always be up a tree or doing something she shouldnt… hahha her nickname was Bekka the Wrecker from 6mths old…. But I wouldnt change a thing…. It was a wonderful experience Not sure that I would like to do it all again in just 16 short days!….. but having many roles to play in my daughters wedding  was beautiful. … hahhah and since it was me that did the match-making for them two in the beginning it was a wonderful result…. Oh well all done now….. and my life goes back to some sort of normal….

Off I go soon to my first writing class and you know I may even catch a nap this afternoon …  hahhah .. 1 more day to go!

Sorry this mother of the bride is by NO means up to doing a ride today…. at the moment I am thinking … hmmm… BIKE….. WHAT BIKE!

CHALLENGE DAY 28 🙂

Done… against all odds!

While waiting for my daughter to come round and check on her flowers I watered the garden and seeing that there was NO wind I came inside to change and tackle the morning very short ride! BUGGER while inside the North wind kicked in (and in south australia a north wind means HOT) expected temp for today is 37 with strong north winds in the morning and then should be a nice barmy night……. Anyway  it may have been a sprint of 2 k’s (all the time I had) but it was a real work out!… At least it is done and I didnt stop for photo’s or even a breath!… Now home drinking my juice and ready to get into the rest of the flowers and cooking… yah… Only hours to go now…

boy this challenge has been a REAL CHALLENGE!…… tomorrow will be another one after a full on day and night of wedding!…. hmmm wonder if I will be able to remember how to move my legs for peddling … hahahhaha.. Anyway will tackle tomorrow when it happens.

Oh yah if anyone has any ideas for what I should try next .. hahha within reason I will be up for another challenge… hmm give me a week to rest up and get back to normal and off I will try something either further with the riding or something completely different…

CHALLENGE DAY 28 🙂

Christ it is HOT. expected top of 37 and with a slight north wind even down here in Goolwa which is usually 5 degrees cooler is suffering too. Thank God I have a good mud brick home that works well in all weather..  I had to delay my ride till 10am… Wedding stuff comes first…Music to download… PA to sort and having problems with both…. and really I have to say that my ride was a token one only…. having 20mins to wait for a download on the computer and I thought … hmmmm kill 2 birds with 1 stone and I can do a quick loop and be back in time to carry on with my stuff……….hahahha….. The little PA secretary comes out in me again!

My poor daughter’s air con had died and with many phone calls a repair man could come out in the mid afternoon. So I did a quick drive over, helped a bit so that she could bring the 2 young grandkids back to my place till the repair man arrived. The best out come was that the wedding cake is at my place in the cool. She is now back home … much cooler and I got the all the music stuff fixed.

Ceremony on the beach has now been delayed till 6pm due to heat so I should have ample time now to complete my last 3 jobs-

PS tried on my dress for wedding… hmmm though I havent worn it for a while… it seems longer… either I have lost some hips or I have shrunk … !!!

CHALLENGE DAY 27 🙂

Well as I promised I did get back on the bike first thing this morning…6km return….  the water on the river was all about reflections… What a fabulous morning, rode up to my daughters helped out with some wedding decoration prep and then rode back again. My Grandson just love the fact that I ride a bike and was keen to show him his talents. It is all getting closer now….

CHALLENGE DAY 26 🙂

I am really tired…. been a full on day.. left home at 6am…dropped man and trailer off at work w…………..went to flower market, got caught in morning work traffic….. got the wedding flowers…. had to make a double trip cause I forgot something (I am doing the bouquets) and then cleaned  a house for a few hours… Handy extra wedding money……Went and did some last minute wedding shopping… picked up man after work…. drove home with a trailer load of wood… helped him unload it.. made dinner… and I am here and he is snoring on the couch!…. sorry just cant go for my 26th ride today but promise tomorrow….
